한국생산성본부, KOTRA 에코바디스와 함께 ‘에코바디스 평가 대응 워크샵’ 개최 □ KPC한국생산성본부는 KOTRA, 에코바디스 SAS와 공동으로 이달 12일 서울 염곡동 KOTRA 본사에서 ‘에코바디스 평가 대응 워크샵’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
o 에코바디스는 세계 최대 규모의 공급망 ESG 평가모델로 상당수의 글로벌 기업이 협력사에 에코바디스 평가 점수를 요구하며 일정 기준에 미달하면 거래관계를 중단·유예하는 등 불이익을 부여하고 있다.
o 작년 11월 13일 체결한 KPC-에코바디스-KOTRA 업무협약의 일환으로 추진한 이번 워크샵은 에코바디스 평가에 대한 국내 수출기업의 이해도를 높이고 대응방안을 모색하는 장으로 마련됐다.
o 워크샵은 ▲에코바디스 평가모델 특징과 대응전략, ▲글로벌 공급망 평가 동향, ▲관련 KOTRA 지원사업, ▲에코바디스 플래티넘 등급(상위 1%) 기업사례 등으로 구성됐다. 부대 행사로 에코바디스의 공식 교육 파트너사인 에코나인, GSC글로벌표준인증원, AMS경영컨설팅의 현장 상담이 이어졌다.
o 이번 워크샵 외에도 KPC와 KOTRA는 에코바디스와 손잡고 국내기업이 좀 더 쉽고, 편안하게 에코바디스 평가에 응시할 있도록 한국어 평가문항을 공동으로 고도화하고, 국내 규정과 상황을 고려한 평가 가이드를 제작하는 등 전반적인 평가 수검환경 개선작업을 진행 중에 있다.
o KPC 안완기 회장은 개회사를 통해 “지난 4월 유럽연합이 EU공급망 실사지침을 승인하면서 ESG 경영이 다시금 조명받고 있다. KPC 등은 국내 수출기업들이 안정적인 ESG/공급망 평가를 받을 수 있도록 노력하고 있다. 국내 컨설팅업체, 교육기관, 공공기관들이 거래 기업을 보다 실질적이고 체계적으로 현장 지원할 수 있도록 ESG생태계 구축에 앞장서겠다" 고 밝혔다.
o KOTRA 유정열 사장은 “이번 워크샵은 에코바디스 평가에 대한 궁금증을 해소하는 좋은 기회가 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 KOTRA는 수출 중소·중견기업이 에코바디스를 비롯한 지속가능성 평가에서 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
Korea Productivity Center Hosts 'EcoVadis Rating Response Workshop' with KOTRA and EcoVadis
□ The Korea Productivity Center (KPC) announced that it held the 'EcoVadis Rating Response Workshop' on the 12th in collaboration with KOTRA and EcoVadis SAS. The event took place at KOTRA's headquarters in Yeomgok-dong, Seoul.
o EcoVadis is the world's largest supply chain ESG rating model. Many global companies require their partners to obtain EcoVadis scores and impose penalties, such as suspending or terminating business relationships, if they do not meet certain standards.
o This workshop was part of the KPC-EcoVadis-KOTRA agreement signed on November 13 last year. It aimed to enhance domestic export companies' understanding of the EcoVadis rating and to explore response strategies.
o The workshop included sessions on ▲ the features of the EcoVadis rating model and response strategies, ▲trends in global supply chain evaluations, ▲ related KOTRA support programs, and ▲ case studies of companies achieving EcoVadis Platinum status (top 1%). Additional events included on-site consultations by ECONINE, Global Standard Certification, and AMS Management Consulting, EcoVadis' official education partners.
o Besides this workshop, KPC and KOTRA are collaborating with EcoVadis to make it easier and more convenient for domestic companies to participate in the EcoVadis rating. They are enhancing Korean-language rating questions and creating evaluation guides that consider domestic regulations and circumstances to improve the overall assessment environment.
o In his opening remarks, Ahn Wan Gi, Chairman of KPC, stated, "With the European Union approving the EU Supply Chain Due Diligence Directive last April, ESG management is gaining renewed attention. KPC and others are striving to ensure that domestic export companies can receive stable ESG/supply chain ratings. We will lead the establishment of an ESG ecosystem to provide more practical and systematic on-site support for consulting firms, educational institutions, and public organizations."
o Yu Jeoung Yeol, CEO of KOTRA, remarked, "This workshop will be an excellent opportunity to resolve questions about the EcoVadis rating. KOTRA will continue to actively support small and medium-sized export companies in securing competitiveness in sustainability rating, including EcoVadis."
